BioCentric Energy Announces Appointment of Dr. Brian Goodall as CEO

    SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwire)
    03/16/10
BioCentric Energy Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BEHL) today announced... BioCentric Energy Holdings, Inc. has appointed Dr. Brian Goodall as the Company's new Chief Executive Officer. As a corporate honoree at the National Inventors Hall of Fame and an impressive career spanning 30+ years in the USA and Europe, Dr. Goodall has worked for companies such as the Royal Dutch/Shell group in Amsterdam and BF Goodrich. While working for a major US Biofuels producer, Imperium Renewables, Dr. Goodall led the team that made the jet fuel for the first-ever commercial test flight (Virgin Atlantic, London) in February 2008.

Holding several Executive positions in the petrochemical, energy and renewable energy sectors, Dr. Goodall, was most recently the Vice President of Downstream Technology for Sapphire Energy, (located in San Diego, CA), where he was instrumental in enabling the use of algal-derived jet fuel in the first US commercial test flight (Continental Airlines, Houston) in January 2009 and algal derived fuel for the Algaeus cross-country drive in the late summer of 2009. Sapphire is well known in the algae sector for their utilization of open-pond algae systems to generate 'green crude' and drop-in replacement diesel, jet fuel and gasoline.

With over 80 patents and 60 published papers in the scientific journals, while at Shell Dr. Goodall invented SHAC (Super High Activity Catalyst) catalyst, which is used commercially to make more than 1/3 of the world's polypropylene, and launched a new company, Promerus (now owned by Sumitoma Bakelite), in the electronic materials sector while at BF Goodrich.

In addition to Dr. Goodall's experience and proven record of commercial success, his strengths have been in identifying, developing and bringing to fruition innovative technologies that are commercially viable, such as BioCentric Energy's low-cost Photobioreactor system. Also, Dr. Goodall brings to BioCentric Energy his unwavering professionalism and ability in creating strong and beneficial relationships with individuals and companies
    around the world.

The BioCentric Energy team strongly believes that Dr. Goodall is highly qualified and capable of taking the Company to the next level in manufacturing, implementing systems and cost-effectively delivering commercial algae products to the global marketplace in 2010.

Dr. Goodall stated today, "I am excited to become part of the BioCentric Energy team and the opportunity to bring this new photobioreactor and algae technology to commercial reality. I am confident that we can start to unlock the profitable potential of algae in the short term, as well as making strides towards delivering the longer-term value of aquatics in the energy and bulk petrochemical markets."

BioCentric Energy has worked diligently to complete the renovations to the custom-designed sterile algae lab which is now being deployed in preparation of the Company's new R&D equipment.

A clean sterile laboratory is essential for testing, incubating and subsequently inoculating the Company's proprietary algae strains, which will be mass-produced in the commercial units. Algae Specialist Domini Maddox arrived from Texas and began her first day at the BioCentric Energy headquarters in Santa Ana on Monday.

The Company continues to receive daily inquires from some potentially large clients expressing interest in BioCentric Energy's closed-loop systems and algae derived products.

    SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwire)
    03/18/10
BioCentric Energy Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BEHL) -- BioCentric Energy Holdings, Inc., in preparation for the commercial deployment of its proprietary closed-loop Photobioreactor systems in locations throughout the US, the Company has retained the services of independent contractor Jose Sanchez as its Field Operations Director.

BioCentric Energy's CEO, Dr. Brian Goodall stated today, "This is a highly specialized position requiring proven experience in all aspects of microalgae production including the selection of production sites, procurement of the appropriate permits, validation of commercial algae production operations and development of profitable algae products. Jose's extensive experience in large scale algae production and his broad and deep skill set make him uniquely qualified for this critical and challenging role. I am delighted to bring Jose on to the BioCentric Energy team which is now staffed for the successful implementation of our business plan."

With an outstanding academic record, Mr. Sanchez is a Harvard graduate with a Masters degree in Environmental Health. Also, Mr. Sanchez has a Masters degree in Manufacturing Systems and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering both from Monterrey Tech, Latin America's Top University. Mr. Sanchez has experience in growing algae in both Photobioreactors and open ponds, and has built and deployed both systems in different and often challenging locations. For the last two years Mr. Sanchez was General Manager of the Mexican subsidiary of Aurora BioFuels Inc., one of the top companies in the production of algae for BioFuels in open pond systems. At BioCentric Energy Mr. Sanchez will be relied upon to ensure that the land, water, nutrients and other natural resources are suitable for the Company's closed-loop Photobioreactor systems and subsequent commercial growth of algae. The information collected from each site will be analyzed by Mr. Sanchez and Algae Specialist Domini Maddox to ensure that the selected algae strain will grow at an optimal rate in its new environment.

Another valuable addition to the BioCentric Energy team is Mr. Helmut Gass, the Company's new Manager of Research and Development. Mr. Gass has broad experience in building Biodiesel plants to produce biodiesel meeting both ASTM as well as the very stringent European standards. Mr. Gass also has both the knowledge and the experience of converting biomass to liquids, syngas to power and coal to liquids, attributes that will be instrumental in the development of new and highly sought after solutions for algae to energy. Furthermore, Mr. Gass will work diligently to streamline and further optimize the Company's algae growing equipment to maximum production rates.

Chairman of the Board Dennis Fisher stated: "Helmut Gass is an amazing and brilliant individual, uniquely creative and talented and a definite asset to BioCentric Energy."

BioCentric Energy Plans Travels to Evaluate High Yielding and Cost-Effective Algae Oil Extraction Options

    SANTA ANA, CA -- (Marketwire)
    03/24/10
BioCentric Energy Holdings, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BEHL) announces that while developing its low-cost, commercial closed-loop integrated photobioreactor systems, the Company has invested significant time and effort researching all potential methods and processes for extracting oil from algae. With several extraction methods to choose from, BioCentric Energy's goal was to develop extraction methods that would be cost effective, environmentally friendly and yield the highest amount of algae oil.

Although the Company has successfully extracted significant quantities of oil using their in-house developments and partnerships, their research has revealed new alternative processes that could afford even higher yields of high quality oil from a given algae strain.

In the next 30 days, the BioCentric Energy team of engineers and scientists will be traveling extensively throughout the US to witness first-hand, and evaluate these new and innovative methods for extracting algae oil. During their travels, the BioCentric Energy team will consider parameters such as the geographical location of the extractor and any potential logistics challenges for shipping the algae biomass, its state of commercial readiness and scalability, the cost and energy consumption per gallon of extracted oil, the percentage of oil that can be extracted from any given algae biomass, and finally the ability to separate the different highly valuable components in the Company's algae oils during the extraction process. Once the team has collected this information, BioCentric Energy will determine the most cost-effective and highest yielding processes to meet our commercial goals.

Chairman of the Board, Mr. Dennis Fisher, stated, "The Algae oil extraction process is a key unit operation in bringing BioCentric Energy and its clients into profit and we are very pleased to have a viable solution in house and also some leads towards potentially even better options."

Mr. Rick Armstrong and Tim Tompkins from RWE (Renewed World Energies) a majority owned subsidiary of Aventura Equities (PINKSHEETS: AVNE), will be traveling from South Carolina to the BioCentric Energy headquarters in Santa Ana, CA this week to install the automation and help complete the final installation of the Company's commercial closed-loop system. The working Commercial closed-loop photobioreactor will have its newly designed pumps and valves and the Siemens PLC system. With the upcoming launch of the Company's new website, shareholders and clients will be welcomed to view the working commercial system live via the bio-cam.
